I grew up between the UK, a childhood spent moving around Europe, and my family's farm in Portugal. What taught me about food was bodybuilding. It made me obsessive about nutrition, and I spent university talking to nutritionists and learning everything I could. Eating for my own health then showed me how hard that is in the UK, where real food is close to impossible to buy unless you cook it from scratch. I built Champ, the UK's first organic personalised meal-prep service, in Bristol. When it closed in 2020 I had a choice: train as a functional medicine practitioner at CNELM, or build the service I could not find. I started Biospan that year. I wanted to maximise nutrition through food, with clean ingredients and personalised nutrition, and that became BioCheffing. Today we deliver it through private chefs, nutritionists, and a team building the technology to make it more accessible.
