Biospan provides private chef and personalised nutrition services. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have. It applies to our website, our enquiry and application forms, and the delivery of our services.
Who we are
Biospan Limited is the controller of the personal information described in this policy. You can reach us at info@biospan.io for any privacy question or request.
What we collect
- Enquiry details: your name, contact details, location, household size and preferred chef visits per week when you request a quote or book a call.
- Dietary and health information: allergies, intolerances, dietary requirements, nutrition goals and, where you choose to share it, information from your nutritionist, doctor or coach. We only collect this to plan and cook your menus, and only with your consent.
- Application details: CV, experience, location and availability when you apply to become a BioChef.
- Service records: menus, schedules, feedback and correspondence relating to your ongoing service.
- Website data: device and usage information collected through cookies, described below.
How we use it
- To respond to enquiries, prepare quotes and match you with a suitable BioChef.
- To plan menus, source groceries and deliver your recurring service.
- To assess chef applications and run our vetting process.
- To improve our website and services.
- To send service updates and, where you have agreed, occasional marketing you can opt out of at any time.
Legal bases
We rely on contract (delivering the service you asked for), legitimate interests (running and improving our business), consent (dietary and health information, marketing) and legal obligation (accounting and tax records). Where we process health-related information, we do so only with your explicit consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
Who we share it with
We share your information only where needed to deliver the service: with the BioChef matched to your household, with suppliers who source your groceries, and with service providers who host our website, forms and scheduling tools. We never sell personal information.
Cookies
We use essential cookies to make the site work and analytics cookies to understand how it is used. You can control non-essential cookies through your browser settings.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry details for up to two years after your last contact, service records for the duration of your service plus the period required for legal and accounting purposes, and unsuccessful application details for up to one year unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information, to restrict or object to its processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these rights, email info@biospan.io. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
International transfers
We operate in the UK, US, Canada and Europe. Where your information moves between these regions, we protect it with appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
